Poor Hewitt

Ever since potty training in January, Hewitt has been incredibly backed up. Going poo is a process especially since he only goes every two days. I've been pumping him full of juice and limiting his dairy, but still he continues to struggle. He will cry and complain that the "poo is stuck" and "I can't do it." I just hope we can resolve this problem before school starts in a few years. I've heard it can continue for awhile. The weird thing is that it doesn't hurt him to go anymore, he is just scared. So Hewitt will walk around like this for a few hours before I finally make him sit on the toilet for thirty minutes and go. So although I feel bad that he is backed up, I still think his posture is funny. I giggle at how ridiculous he looks. Just go!!!

Hi Steph, I'm a friend of Steve's (from High School). My 2-year old little girl had that problem. And all I have to say is FIBER. It is in a lot of things, popcorn, pears, plums, prunes, fiber powders...etc That is the thing that REALLY helped her. It is definitely a hard thing to get through. I feel for ya!

Also make sure he drinks a lot of water. Limiting dairy is good too...like you said. :)

Ah, potty training :) Avery has actually had the reverse poo problem...but all is back to normal now. Yogurt helps.

We also read about worms helping by putting their waste in the soil...now when Avery doesn't want to go, we tell her she can be cool like a worm, and that (for some reason) helps. Or we watch a dump truck put all its dirt in the right place.

Ah, all the gross things parents love dishing about now :)

Love ya!

I feel your pain Hewitt. ;)
I've heard that can happen. The anticipation is the worst part. Good luck with that.
Maybe B will be on track with you. We started potty training today. Wish me luck.
