Dollar Movies!

Hurray. I just discovered that we have a Dollar Movie Theater about five minutes from my house. I am so excited. Since we haven't seen a movie in the theater for quite sometime every movie showing is new. I am going to take the kids to see Horton hears a Who this morning. Yeah. Detroit has been good to us. We have discovered lots of things to do. We really like the zoo. There is an amazing polar bear, seal, and penguin exhibit. Similiar to the New Jersey Aquarium, you walk through this tunnel and the animals swim all around. Its very entertaining. I love zoos.

We also found this amazing toy store out in Berkley. I have inherited my Mom's love of toys. I love specialty toys that are well made and that encourage creativity and imagination. Playmobil is my favorite brand, but I also love Quircetti. The toy store is having their Christmas in July sale, so everything in the store is 20 percent off. I can spend hours just looking at toys. Thankfully, the store has stations for the kids to play in including a full Thomas the train play area so that I browse to my hearts content.

In other news, the boys are doing great. Donny is continuing to smile and laugh at everything the boys do. Hewitt is finally talking more. And Thomas has found some good friends to play with. Thomas went to Vacation Bible Camp last week and learned many songs and stories about Jesus. I was happy that he could get out of the house for a few hours everyday. Its too bad our church doesn't have a Vacation Book of Mormon camp. That would be sweet.

In Steve news, he absolutely loves his job. Although he has been averaging three hours a night the past three nights, he still has enough adrenaline to get up in the morning and be excited about work. I wonder how long this is going to last. Either he will get burnt out or he will have to cut back. I just can't imagine him keeping this pace. For now, though, all is well.

I've always admired your ability to really dig into a city and make it your own. I've been working hard to do the same, although I wish I could somehow uncover a secret zoo to take Clara to...

Yeah for dollar theaters!! The same person owns all the movie theaters in our whole county, so he has a monopoly. We do have a $3 theater though! That's good enough for us! Good to hear you're doing well!!

I wish we had a dollar theater...and a zoo...and a toy store. I guess that's what I get for living in Alabama. I just discovered there is an air conditioned play place in the new Chic fil A by my house...yippee...seriously though, they love it!:)

The AMC theater here in Marple has dollar movies on Wed. Mornings, Kenna has loved that. Really all a place needs for me is a zoo, an orchard, and a museum. Kenna loved the mail from Thomas. We sent something yesterday so watch for it. Brad just left for scout camp and all I can think is if I had the money I would be making a 10 hour drive!! Love you and miss you tons - Adrienne

I think the concept of "Book of Mormon Camp" is a great idea! I think you should write up the curriculum and sell the program to members around the world! You'd be rich in no time at all!!! Think about it.

You have way too much info in one post...I have comments about all of it! First, Donny is getting so big I can hardly believe it. He hardly looks like the same kid anymore. 2) I need to see if there's a dollar theater here...good idea. 3) Tell me, who are the toys for??? 4) Vacation Book of Mormon camp...that WOULD be sweet. Idea Steph, you could be the first(: 5) I'm so glad Steve is loving it...makes it all worth it, huh? Hopefully, his energy lasts ALL year. 6) We miss you guys a lot. So glad you started a blog.

Stephanie,

Ya, my moms idea is great! Vacation BofM school sounds perfect. My kids went to summer bible school and had a great time while on Statia. I do wish we could do something like that here. I didn't even know you had a blog! I am glad I finally found you on here. You are such a fun mom!

Taking all 3 boys to dollar movies all by yourself? That's impressive, Steph. I love your pictures, especially the new family pic on the beach. You guys look so good!
